The Bernese Mountain dog parent has a beautiful, Tri-Color coat, with black, white, and tan colorations – however, it’s the Poodle that offers so much diversity in terms of coat colors, including Black, White, Silver, Brown/Chocolate, Red, Blue, and Apricot.
Depending on the coloration of their Poodle parent, your Bernedoodle puppy’s coat can result in Solid, Merle, and Phantom colorations. Due to genetic diversity in crossing breeds, your Bernedoodle will be a lot less likely to develop health issues more common to pedigree breeds, which means they also tend to have longer lifespans. For instance, Bernedoodles may be less susceptible to cancer or heart conditions.
